Another quick update & recruiting timers
October 19, 2009I think I’ve written more apologies than release posts by now, haha.
In any case, as you might know I’ve started working fulltime two months ago, and it’s pretty stressfull. More than I thought it would be, in any case. The only free time I have (= time to fansub) is like two hours a day, so I rather spend that time playing games or whatever than fansubbing. I should be getting one day off a week soon though, so I’ll finally have some time to fansub Chi.
About Fairy Tail — we were planning to sub it because it seemed that no real quality subgroup was gonna do it, but it’s being oversubbed at the moment, and there are plenty of quality fansubs available so it’s dropped. Another reason for this is that Crunchyroll has licensed it, and that my ears start bleeding whenever I hear Aya Hirano’s voice. I don’t even think I’m gonna watch it.
Dragon Ball Kai is stalled at the moment, if things go right we’ll have bluray rips soon and then we’ll start subbing that. So the TV show is probably dropped as well, unless the bluray plan falls through. Will keep you guys posted about that, but it’ll probably take a while until we start with that (after we finish Chi, I think).
Sooo, to sum things up: Fairy Tail dropped, Dragon Ball Kai stalled because of possible bluray subs, and I will continue working on Chi when my working schedule clears up a bit.
In order to speed up the Chi releases: I’m looking for someone who can time Chi episodes! I need timings for episodes 52 till end (episode 104 I think?). If you wanna apply, please download this raw, time it and put some random stuff in the lines so I can see how it’s timed (it’s hard for me to check your timing if the lines are empty). I don’t care if you make every line say “sajsakdjadj” or something. You can then send it to kubuskwal [at] hotmail [dot] com, or tweet it to our Twitter account, or leave a comment here, as long as I can find it!
I hate timing stuff so if someone could do that for me, it would speed up things A LOT, I think <_>.

Since Kubus is really busy, I’ll give a small update in her place.
I think she’s still interested in doing the DBK blu-rays. I’ll nag her about it this weekend. It shouldn’t be too hard, as she doesn’t feel the pressure of releasing one episode per week (though I assume she will try to do so).
Fairy Tail’s a no go. It’s oversubbed as it is, viewable on Crunchyroll and she freaking hates Aya Hirano. She also hated the art, but the art’s really been improved the last couple of episodes IMO, so yeah…
Sorry it’s taking so long. She’s working full time and is about to be promoted to shop manager. She still has to find the proper balance of work, games, boyfriend and subbing. Right now she’s having trouble with just the first three.
Hope you understand. Thank you all for your continued patience. While I don’t think many of you are still expecting something, we’ll try our best to surprise you (hopefully soon).
I’m gonna check the website again until Christmas… Let’s see if they have some DBKai Blu-Rays done… BTW I’ve been talking to a few Brazilian Portuguese fansubs and they’ve already started on the Blu-Rays…
I’m a timer and I can help. But I’m going to have semester test next week. I’ll timee after the test finish. ^^

well if you want the chi episodes you better watch them from crunchyroll of download them from horriblesubs.
… or you get them from Eigo, they seem to be pretty decent.
Still, sad thing there’s no update from kubu anymore. Let’s at least hope the best for her, and that there’s not some serious reason (like an accident or something) behind her not returning to the blog.

TBH, Kubus kind of did forget about this place. Not because if disinterest, she just feels incredibly guilty about not continuing. Can’t even bring up the subject without her looking sad at me :P.
KubuSubs is dead. Kubus wakes up early and gets back home late in the evening because of her job, and has little time to do anything for herself. Weekend is a no-go, which means she simply doesn’t have time to sub.
A one-man group is just too hard to manage, but she sees no fun in running a group with multiple people, so that’s why it had to come to this. Thank you for understanding, and we hope to not have dissapointed you too much.
The blog won’t go down for archiving reasons, but don’t expect anything to be released anytime soon :(.

KubuSubs will still go down in history as a great subbing group. This website is staying in my favorites, as it has these many months, in the hopes that someday it will again become a bustling repository of high-quality translations. Until then, it serves as a firm reminder of the wonderful service Kubus provided, and the joy it brought to all of us leechers.
So thank you, Kubus (and FreakingWesley). We all owe you a debt of gratitude, and may we cross paths again in the future.
Yeah, don’t feel bad about it. There are always other subbing groups. I was only interested in your OP subs and those where by far the best as long as it lasted. That’s an impressive feat for a one-woman group. Your episodes will always have an special place on my HDD.
